In November 2008, Theater Wit took over the space at 1229 W Belmont and has completely renovated the space, which has a proud history as a center for the performing arts in Lakeview for the last 20 years. The new building includes:

Yes, we're finally ready to open our shiny new space, along with a shiny new play to the public this April. We have a whole host of opening events planned (check out the schedule on the left). Please join us for all you can. In the meantime, feel free to check out our blog regarding the building construction and our gallery of construction photos. The space will be home not only to Theater Wit, but three other resident companies, all bringing a remarkable history of vivid and exciting work to our stages. In addition, we rent out our space at competitive rates to visiting producing companies, late and off-night productions and community groups.

We have three beautiful black box theatres seating up to 99 patrons each. Theatre One and Two are proscenium spaces, Theatre Three is a flexible performance space. Rentals include phone and online box office, lobby access and in building display.
